Last team standing

At least from Britain - well deserved win last night, well a draw but to hold Madrid to 2 zero's in 2 games is pretty good when you havent got a proper left back. No doubt all of Britain will now cheer us, come on all you United and Chelsea fans. :) If you havent seen Jens Lehmann's save then find it, its incredible.

  • I dont know, Lehmann last night was the end of a nasty foot in from Raul and got up as if nothing had happened after he was hurt. Normally he would roll around , push the opposition players to the floor or wag a finger in their face. This year Lehmann has been oustanding, probably should have sent off once or twice but goalkeepers tend to get leniency. Bring on the other co-favourites - Villarreal for us in the quarters.

Liverpool 4 straight games without scoring in Europe. I hope they cant score at Highbury on Sunday.

  • I agree with Simon's assessment of Lehman. It was also an awkward time of the match to lose 5 minutes of playing time. We'd had Real pegged back for the previous period and stopping the game gave Roundaldo the breather he needed at that moment. I think Lehman would have been up a lot quicker if there wasn't anything to it. He'd pointed out Raul's foot-in, and that would be enough.

As it turned out, thankfully it was Real that looked cooked after that delay.

I think he's definitely got a better hold on his tantrums.

  • All you need now Simon is to face 3 more teams who want to partake in an orgy of football and leave the rough stuff aside. If I was you I would want to avoid Villareal and Benfica as they have both already done well against British teams. I would also want to avoid Lyon, Bercelona, Juventus, Milan and Inter :-) You better hope for Ajax I suppose. Shaping up to be a great competition though now that the boring forces of Liverpool and Chelsea are out.

  • Its Juventus and Patrick. Let Celtic know if you want to rent Roy for the night so he can stand in the tunnel and make him shit his pants again.

  • Juventus it is. We can beat them!! Well its not the ideal draw but you have to beat these teams eventually. We beat the kings of attack, we now face the kings of defence. But I am not worried, i know all of Britain is behind us and we want to dedicate our glory to the rest of the British clubs that were too poor to get this far.

  • Paddy might shite his drawers anyways. He certainly was shiteing it for the last two seasons anyway. Juve is a tough draw, but I really didn't want Barca yet.

  • Well at least you know that if you win Liverpool have set a nice precedent for you when you come fifth in the league.
