Manchester United

Okay for Johnno who was worried about there only being wanking material for a month..

Its Silly Season and one club right now has all the rumours going on. YERNITED. Questions:

A) WILL RONALDO STAY? Can he co-exist with Rooney, Can Fergie sit them down together? Will the English let him enjoy himself or will he be ridiculed al year, even by United's fans. Will he get smashed in the face on a shopping trip with his Mum by some hatefilled fan?

b) WILL RUUD STAY? Left United after being asked to leave it seems. Missed Roy's goodbye - had a shocking World Cup and saw his value plummet. United need a striker though - they already have Ruud - is it best if Fergie kissed and made up or if he blew 25 million on Torres?

c) WHEN WILL ROONEY EXPLODE AGAIN? And will it be on day one of preseason when Ronaldo comes near him....

  • I thought we were going to discuss hot college chicks? Damn it! You guys don't understand - Man City open at Chelsea. Friggin' schedulers! I needed a release, and you deliver the soap opera across town. Disappointing.

  • Does it really matter what we do?
Chelsea have signed Ballack and Shevchenko.
United, Arsenal and Liverpool might struggle to attract top talent from Europe who actually want to win the league.
Right now its all about how United, Arsenal and Liverpool divide up 2nd, 3rd and 4th again. One of us might sneak a European Cup if we are very lucky.

    Defeated in Bedford, MA.

  • Too true - i gave up hope on the league already. i hope we are better than last year but we have to get that midseason form right. We have a good opening so hopefully can get some points up - we are linked with everyone from Buffon to Curtis Davis to Ribery (who Real reportedly just bid 26 mill for).... Still end of the day we wont catch Chelsea. I am praying however you keep Ronaldo so English fans arent deprived of telling him what they think of him. He is as bad as Robben and Drogba for me.

  • Ronaldo's house in England was already attacked.

Screw Ballack and Shevchenko. They can only field 11 at a time so some one else will have to make way. Obviously they will have the strongest side and the deepest reserves but we don't surrender to anyone. You find a way to defeat them.

Some of their reserves want away anyway. They can not keep players as reserves who would start anywhere else. SWP is a warning to anyone interested in actually playing.

Unfortunately for United they may now have three or four gaps to fill. With Arsenal we shall see.

The wild card is whatever mad money Real Madrid will splash out. I really hate them. They had all their debts canceled several years back effectively by the state, bought inter-galacticos to sell kits but one f&?k all and now are looking to burn more money.

  • Very Churchillian Chris. I don't worry about United's ability to defeat Chelsea so I am not scared of them. (though I probably won't get to play personally so it wouldn't matter if I was) I just worry about our ability to match their record against everybody else.

  • Thats the real problem - in a league scenario, the best 23 outweight having a hard to beat 11. Arsenal dont have United's we wont be beat spirit but even with it, it doesnt seem to be enough. Chelsea's first 11 will shortly include Ballack, Shevchenko, Essien, Lampard, Makalele, Terry, Gallas... its phenomenal. And they still may poach Ashley from us.

  • We will have 3 new players within a couple of weeks, not including Rosicky - word is we have done the deal for Saviola (4 mill) though I am not sure we need him. We have virtually got Davies and have offered 14.5 mill for Ribery. We are short defensively so have to secure at least 2 defenders I think.

  • Yes, all of those names sound familiar, but do you realize that MCFC just picked up Dietmar Hamann after our "coup" for returning legend Paul Dickov??? See ya'll in Europe!

  • I'm sure we'll have a better idea of how things are shaping up at United by the time you find it Rich.

  • Heinze too may be going - reportedly a 10 million target for who else? Real Madrid. And no-one has thanked me for the hours of hard labour I spent making that picture - it was at least 4 minutes. Hamann will be good for City GAC till he gets injured - if you leep Reina and Hamann you shuold be solid enough next year though Dickov.. not good.
