One of the best days in football history

Alas I missed it live by being in Florida... Arsenal needed 2 goals at a stadium that hadnt given up 2 away goals combined in several matches. Smithy got the first but with seconds left it looked all over.......No-one gave them a prayer but it happened and Nick Hornby somehow gets famous.

  • I think I had to take the following week off school after this game. Fucking Thomas and his wiggly worm celebration - I could of smashed my ole mans telly that night.

  • Ah that was the best, we came back from Florida and the first thing Dad did was ask a stewardess who won the league - daft cow thought Liverpool had so we spent a miserable flight back only then to be overjoyed. It was such a scrawpy goal but the first finish ever to a football season and Rich, this proves I remember football before Sky bought their way in!

  • I refuse to ever watch the rip-off version of "Fever Pitch" with non-funny Jimmy Fallon and that fat wench crackhead drunk from E.T.

  • As a United fan I got most of my enjoyment back them from Liverpool occasionally losing. It was a great moment in my life at the time. Up there with Dave Beasants performance in the 88 Cup Final.

  • The 88 cup final was just about bearable, as we won the league that year, but still very humiliating watching that muppet Beasant saving Aldo's peno. grrr

  • I remember Beasant's post match interview and he says he was gutted he didnt catch the penalty of Aldrige, I had to laugh.

  • wizards 3 -- crew 1. did anyone else listen to this over the internet?

bad start to the season for the crew. first round draft choice jason garey waited until the 72nd to make his debut. but i thought he did okay.

danny szetela may be playing himself out of any USNat consideration. same with chad marshall. defense of the 2010 USNat team i suspect-- but im sure some EPL team will have poached them by then.

Crew be good this year with the eddie gaven acquisition. will take time.

kansas city played an amazing match. eddie johnson is going to be tough in germany this year. kerry zavagnin was solid. i dont know what happened in the germany match.
