Defoe - Ponce, nutter or other?

What was the point of doing this? A comical nibble? It's not as if you are going to hurt someone biting through their shirt. Said Defoe, "I reacted in a bit of a mischievous way; my character is a little like that at times." I did not see the match but looks as if we correctly predicted that the arrival of the two argies would mark the end of the club. They lost to Chesterfield tonight and Pardew is sure to get the sack. Who's blowing bubbles now?

  • He's reached breaking point. Overlooked by Sven, rejected by McLaren, behind Mido, and Keane in the striking rotation for much of this season, gee'd up by playing against one of his former clubs.

Mascherano must wonder what the hell next?

  • Michael Jackson?

  • Must be hard having 2 World Cup stars thrown into your squad - as a manager how do you cope with this hardship? It gets worse for Pardew as apparently he is being forced to sign Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho - is there any way West Ham can be saved?

  • Simon, the point is based on their contracts Pardew lost the dressing room when these two signed. He can't bench them unless they agree and their performances have been shite. These guys could tell Pardew to f%^k off in practice and he would have to take it. They also don't understand how the game is played in England. It would take time for them to adapt. Pires did nothing for half of his first season in England and then started to produce (had him on Fantasy squad so can attest).

  • Is that true though on the contracts? Both have been benched, both were benched for the first game, neither played last night - and they havent started all their league games. I suspect the guarantee of first team football has been exaggerated as i have seen nothing concrete. Just wild speculation.

As for losing the dressing room? Hardly. Reo Coker was apparently unsettled by Arsenal who made a deadline day bid for him. Teddy got another year older. One of their players (Pantsil i think) was locked out of the country for having a dodgey passport... and they had Roy Carroll who is cack.

Truth be told this is why some managers dont get a look in for the big English clubs - here we have good old English fella (last year criticising Wenger for foreign players, despite signing one of ours) - who when he gets to sign world class talent has no idea how to get the best from them.

  • Funny how quickly this story disappeared isn't it?. Imagine if it was Rooney instead of Defoe?
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're wrong.
