henry can stay

If he plays like he has this week I will let him stay. Brilliant today, Liverpool couldnt contain him - when his workrate is high he is brilliant. Catching the Spuds now and have CHarlton at home next which is good. I watched United too - quality side they were today - broke forward and should have scored 40 though Rooney missing his hat trick was funny till I realised he was in my yahoo team. Liverpool very poor right now, should bring back pongolle and offload crouch, morientes and cisse...

  • Oh yes, saw that we are heavily linked with Beckham - dont want him, dont need him, he gives us nothing we dont already have other than new haircuts, more red cards and unwanted media attention. 15 million for that - waste.

  • Has anyone besides me noticed that Real Madrid have won nothing since Makelele split for Chelsea??? That guy is the most under-rated player in the EPL, besides my boy Joey Barton at wondrous MCFC!!! As for Becks, he's going to hurt - not help - England this summer. I want the ball on the feet of Gerrard (even after the gift today), Lampard, Rooney and (hopefully selected) Carrick...not the pretty boy who never gets stuck in.

  • Real Madrid and Makelele have been commented on in many quarters. Real Madrid opted to pay over the top for a handful of galacticos and then make up the numbers with journeymen. They didn't want to pay Makelele a fair wage and he bolted. Turnover is up though with Asians buying Beckham kits.

  • Aye, if we buy Beckham, we can sell kits too and finish er.. nowhwere. I dont want him at all. He was excellent at United no question but despite reports of a good season in Madrid I want him far away from us. Makelele is sheer class, I never appreciated his abilities till one John O Toole set me straight and he was right. Madrid's loss.

  • Yes, United looked great today. Brown and Rio are looknig fantastic together. Brown has to be a cert now for the England squad though not first X1. I am happy for the lad after so many injuries. He has shown guts and United have shown him some great loyality through two broken legs and two ACLs. (one might have been a medial)
Rooney was breathtaking. Not much I can say except England have a very decent chance with him in their side.
Saha's all round play was very good. Strong as an ox with his back to goal, brilliant in the air and very good feet.
Ronaldo was poor but has been good for us lately so he is excused.
O'Shea did very well in midfield. He did exactly what he needs to do when he is in there - win tackles and headers and then just give it off to lads who will use it better. He broke up a lot of Newcastle attacks and just knocked the ball short to Giggs and Rooney who did the rest. Much better out of him. Its when he thinks he can pass the ball around like Scholes or Gerrard is when he gets into trouble. Its interesting that Fletcher has not even made the bench since O'Shea came back from the rib injury. O'Sheas size and strength is useful in there alongside Giggs, Ronaldo and Park.
I am terrified about the Ruud situation though. I really see this turning into a Japp Stam scenario where Fergie cuts off his nose to spite his fate. Right now I think we can have a very very good team next season if we get the centre-midfield sorted out (big if I agree considering the balls Fergie has made of it in the recent past) but if we also have to replace Ruud we are looking at a race for second again. (which we might be anyway with the Ballack rumours.)
