Arsenal eggs now in one basket?

Arsenal better win the Champions League now or it could be UEFA Cup football against Shelbourne in your new stadium. I suppose Tottenham have been inconsistent enough lately to give you some hope in the league. Should be a great game in Highbury against Spurs on April 22nd. For some reason we are playing Friday night at home against Sunderland. Would be interesting to see us cut it to 4 points before Chelsea play away to Bolton the next day. All we can do is keep winning, secure second spot and watch Jose squirm a little hopefully.

  • Nice picture John.... As for the eggs, we arent quite at that point and 4th is still in our own hands - if we beat Spurs and everyone else its ours and our run in is pretty generous. Game yesterday was good to watch, Arsenal start well as always but we didnt score and then we got battered on the counter attack - united deserved it for sure. Ruud was crap which pleased me , Rooney was spectacular. Arsenal didnt always take the right options yesterday as there was lots of space to exploit and I thought we should have scored. Best goalkeeper in the Premiership emerged yesterday, wasnt Lehmann or Van de Sar, it was Kolo Toure with a cracking 2 handed save and better still it wasnt seen, it was that good.

  • It was a great save. Ruud was rubbish. Sahas overall play is much, much better. Was worried at the start as it looked like Arsenal were going to pass us to death in the middle. Our centre-midfield right now is more O'Shea stopping you and Giggs running right at you. Has been working well for last couple of months but not a long term solution obviously. O'Shea has definitely saved himself from the chop though. Thank God we stopped playing Fletcher. I think we have won every game since O'Shea recovered from the rib injury he got in Anfield and came back for the Carling Cup final.

It was a very good game. Should have been 4-2 United I think.

p.s. I love Vidic. His tackle which led to the first goal was super.

  • Saha has come very good for United - you darent sell Ruud though as Saha will be injured soon enough and then you are stuck. I do think Ruud gets a lot of goals but honestly I would get a lot of goals there with the way you play. Giggs has been terrific lately. What happened to Fletcher who you used to want children with? Interesting week, you will relegate Sunderland and if Bolton can slow down Chelsea it will all of a sudden be very interesting.

  • I think Fletcher is a nice, silky footballer and he thrived when we had a five man midfield where he was in there with Keane and Scholes. Surely you remember him being outstanding on both occasions against Arsenal last season? Once Keane left, we reverted to the old 4-4-2. I think it was always going to be a challenge for him to share 50% of the centre-midfield responsibility and then when Scholes went, er, blind it meant he was sharing it with guys like O'Shea, Giggs or, dreadfully, Richardson against Liverpool.
I still think he can mature into a very good player but am less sure it will be at United.
