Fancy a flutter do you Wayne?

Apparently, Rooney is quite the gambler and owes 700K pounds to Michael Owen's agent. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=382569&in_page_id=1779&in_a_source=&ct=5

  • Bloody Owen, documented as a bit too much of a gambler, he then introduces others to it. Only England can build a team of superstars which people said 6 years ago would peak now and then self destruct just before the tournament. What, with fake Sheiks tricknig the manager, his tricking with women, fellas running up gambling debts with each others business partners.....

  • What is 700K to Rooney though? I hear Terry is quite the gambler too.

  • Well if Rooney earns 60k a week, thats 12 weeks of wages there not to mention any principle he owes too so it certainly hurts - I dont think anyone can afford to comfortably write off wages for 1/4 of the year. Though I am sure he makes a ton from endorsements....

  • Right...I was going to say...I am sure he did those Nike ads for free :-)

  • You have to wonder who is looking after his assets. It's not as if he's living hand to mouth and should have at least 700K in the bank on his wages.
Methinks we could have another rag to riches football star who pisses it all away.

  • Or we have another talented player that the press will try their best to build up and pull right back down.

  • I'm guessing that everybody in that card school is laying in wait for Rooney. Like taking candy from a toddler.

And after fleecing him, they probably would welcome Joe Cole.

700K is a lot though and you'd think that someone in the England setup would have stepped in before that figure became a possible rift.
