USA playing pretty well - BOGUS penalty at end of half, these refs are so bad!! How can FIFA justify these bastards?! It should be 1-1, I am starting to think it is political - i.e. we don't want the US to advance. Absolute bollocks. Dempsey has been great, Landon has been nowhere, Beasley looking OK... c'mon USA, prove these anti-US refs wrong. Beautiful ball from Beasly and a great finish from Dempsey. Utter shite, SHITE call on the late pen. Very angry at that - ref should be strung up on a short rope. What a bastardinho, what a dumbshite - on this level calls like that are not acceptable. A lame first goal from Ghana (we should have cleared it, no idea what happened to Reyna, but typically he has cost us) and an even lamer 2nd... US getting all the bad luck IMHO. Will take a brilliant 2nd half to recover. I had been rooting for Ghana before this game as an outside underdog - but now... please, two goals for the USA. Landon - last chance you wanker, do something!

I watched down in the cafeteria at work. Rather sad experience - there were 4 of us for the first half - 2 of them kitchen staff. There are probably over 300 people working in the building.
Crowd picked up to about 9 for the second half but that probably had as much to do with it being lunchtime than anything.
I had to bitchslap some guy sitting in front of me towards the end. When the US got that late free kick the guy was saying "come on, yellow..give him a yellow". Then he deservedly got a yellow and he goes "YEESSSS". The rest of the conversation went:
Me: What does that mean?
Guy: Its a warning.
Me: I know what a fuckin yellow card is, but why are you celebrating it like a goal when you are 2-1 with 10 minutes left?
Guy: Well I was hoping he already had one or he might get another one.
Me: Ya, that would reallly be something to celebrate in this situation.
Guy: Looked hurt and turned around.

Class John - he sounds like that commentator called Shepp who yells "GIVE HIM A PK REFEREE, WHERE'S THE PK?" Quality.
American atmoshpere not all that good it seems in most places - DC has been good abut it but outside the main city its hopeless.

I thought Harkes was the best of the yanks before i left, he was paired with Dellacamara and not nearly so offensive as Balboa. I laughed at Balboa's commentary on Cole's England goal as he says "I think he caught the goalkeeper by surprise". Quality.
