Great Day for Chelsea

Made it home in time for the second half. Sunderland were constantly under the cosh but shots were going straight at the keeper. And why did Ronaldo take the free kick instead of Giggs? Muppet. Sunderland were relegated at the same time as effectively killing off United's chances. How "ironic"

  • Beat me to it Chris. United sunk. I didnt see any of it as i am still at work but its ironic alright - Mick McCarthy's old team stick it to Johnno before they say goodbye. Bolton can win 10-0 tomorrow and it wont make any difference at all to the champions.

  • Ronaldo put in probably the worst display I have seen from a United player since Gary Birtles. Actually no, since his performance against Benfica this season in the Champions League. Oh well. Just need to try to hang onto second now.

  • Sir Alex had the following to say about Wayne and Cristiano after the match - fair play to him

He added: "Wayne and Cristiano will be great players, I would stake my life on it.

"They have potential and we will wait two or three years for them to fulfil it. But people should remember they are only young. You have to expect inconsistency and tonight the pair of them produced probably their worst performances of the season."
