Non American joins Arsenal
What's this Rosicky who signed for Arsenal like then? He is Czech and played for Borussia Dortmund. Thoughts Simon. Can just see him helping defeat the US thus increasing Simon's pleasure

Could be a great signing for us - to persuade Henry to stay, Wenger/Dein had to offer progress - with luck this signing is the start of that. He is a great player, creative midfielder but did have 2 poor Budesliga seasons which is why his price in 2001 was 18 mill and now is about 7 mill. Like all Czechs they play well when they have Czechs to pass to, not sure how well they do without other Czechs though. Very pleased though with this signing. Would take an American at Arsenal if one was good enough and not called Landon.

7 mill is a great deal. 18 mill was silly money for him. Now Pires really has to get serious about finding a new club because Rosicky is that forward playing left sided midfielder. And he takes booming free kicks--not quite Roberto Carlos velocity, but not as often profligate as a Roberto Carlos free kick either.
This is a good buy as long as he comes through his world cup unscathed by injury or humiliation.
