Wisdom - First half of England match with Marcello

Simon you are missing so much. We've learnt: - No need to be concerned about only bringing four strikers because Gerrard can play centre forward -In a game like this injuries don't matter. As a player you do what you need to do to play. If that means taking aspiring or Advil, you take it -Regarding Gerrard's shot well over the bar: Gerrard had the accuracy he only needs to get it down a bit

  • I love that last one, he had accuracy if only he had brought it down a bit - Christ. Another mate emailed me to say a yank commentator said Carlos Tevez reminds him of Balboa. If I were Tevez I would sue.

Horror game today - 1-0, Ecuador were very poor and rarely threatened but for one lucky break. Rooney got better, Beckham hit a peach of a free kick but ultimately that was a forgettable 90 mins - still quarter finals here we come. I cant wait for the DVD of England's tournament, so many exciting performances to pick from :|

  • Balboa derided Becks for most of the match, then kissed his arse after the goal. I hate that slobbering mutant announcer. Haircut in order? Just chop off the entire head to kill the body.

  • Nice - i like that , take off the head indeed!

Moment of madness of the day: Costinha , on a yellow card tightrope, they are trying to get him sent off and then a deliberate handball - what an idiot. Sets up an intriguing second half.

  • A bigger collection of tossers than this bunch of Portuguese you simply could not find.

Can FIFA review Figo's unpunished head-butt? Right in front of the ref too.

I'm still behind England but my second choice is any team playing Portugal.

  • I am enjoying the fact that every newspaper and web site and analyst in the world keeps using the term "uninspired" for England's victorious results this WC. No one's going to give a damn about beautiful football if they hoist the Jules Rimet Trophy. This isn't "Swan Lake" - just win!

  • Its funny Steve I started out neutral but after watching Kuyt and Robben start falling everywhere I found myself cheering Portugal. Then they scored a good goal, then the idiot Costinha got himself sent off.
meanwhile the ref had been quietly booking every tackle and by the end of the game players are falling everywhere. great stuff. 25 fouls - 16 bookings, 4 become red. Amazing. Good for England - couldnt have been better really. Deco, Costinha (possibly Figo) and maybe Ronaldo all missing. Never a better time to play them. As for our style of play Gac, gotta say I would prefer to win better than we have, of the 4 games we have played, none are memorable and none adverts for the game. Still Portugal at the weekend should be very interesting.

  • Did you listen to the complete blow-job that 'cello was giving Grosso for falling over Lucas Neill instead of dribbling around him? I've never heard such unstinting praise for a cheating forward from a former defender.

'cello is the biggest hose and I hope he soon gets dropped for his moronic meanderings.
