I've never seen such poor penalty kick attempts. They didn't even try. The ghosts of prior tournaments continues to haunt. How many people have suggested that England start practising penalty kicks?
Will not comment on actual match here. Too angry about penalty kicks right now.

PLaying 4-5-1 and Rooney's red card are what cost us. We didn't deserve to win or go to pens.
Bye Sven.
Fun season next year, Rooney and Ronaldo will be popular...

Uninspiring, except for Hargreaves. I waited four long years for this...I waited four long years before that. The transition to McLaren took place in full force with his demonstrative touchline coaching (as Sven sat there like a typical, stoic, frost-bitten Swede). The Class of '92 is now officially dead. Rich, you're right - England did not deserve to win. Ireland don't make it, England out on penalties and more Balboa in the booth. Keep me away from sharp objects.

Meanwhile France beats Brazil. Can anyone else see a rematch of WWII sans les americains next Saturday?
At least lives were saved in Inman Square. If there was a Portugal - Brazil semi the national guard may have had to beeen called in.
With Rooney off England had worse strikers than the US. I also disagreed with taking Joe Cole off for Crouch. In my opinion, Joe Cole is one of the most dangerous English players with the ball at his feet. Keep on Gerrard and Lampard instead. They were f%&king brillant. Lampard might even start to having problems with erectile dysfunction such is his lack of confidence at the moment. He should have never taken one of the penalty kicks.
Gerrard was equally shocking.
I am sickened by the England display. Did anyone else notice that the one penalty scored was by a non-Englishman (Hargreaves is Canadian in case you forgot)?

I asked who the next Southgate would be...didn't realize I should have used the plural. Rabidly disgusting effort and result.
