SACKED

He's done fella's. I am devastated as i am sure all of you are. SACKED. No confirmation but I will stand by this Sun style headline. Given no proper money to buy players this Summer and then expected to deliver Wengerlike/Fergielike football. Never going to happen. Sidwell -HAHA. Belletti - more rubbish. Pizzaro, over the hill at Munich. NO Alves/ no Ronaldinho - no chequebook opening. Three poor results in a row, all dour again but hampered by no Drogba, Lampard and Carvalho. The only person to blame is Abramovich of course as I cant fault Maurinho on this evidence but I am truly delighted. PLs sink out of sight now Chelsea so that when whoever comes in gets 50000000 bazillion quid to spend in January, its too late this year. SOD OFF MAURINHO - the media will portray you a hero tomorrow and hereafter but yuo were an utter twat.

  • And to just add icing to this, this sacking means Spurs look like they're going to be pipped to the post in their Benny-Hillesque chase for Ramos.

Too right about Jose's legacy at Chelsea: An insufferable little twat.

  • How long till Spurs call Jose's number? My guess 5 hours ago.

  • I'm sorry but I will miss him and there is no reason to be happy even if you hate him. His press conferences are hilarious. I enjoy reading what he says for a laugh.

He could get another job tomorrow and will also get a handsome payout so not exactly as if the Mourinhos will be eating baked beans and toast for dinner.

He will find work and be richer and happier while we are deprived of reading about his latest outlandish quote.

  • But Chris, how can you write:
"there is no reason to be happy even if you hate him."

Surely if you hate him there is great reason to be happy, the arrogant egomaniac - the self proclaimed Special One has found out he isnt so special and he cracked.

The man who accused reading of not doing enough to help Cech when Chelsea had turned down an initial ambulance. THe man who claimed Liverpool never scored a goal in the CL 2 years ago when Cech surely would have been sent off had it not stood. He also was very snide about Ronaldo's upbringing last season. He calls Wenger a voyeur. The man never saw anything other than through Chelsea tinted eyes. He might have the odd funny one liner but really he's a twat.

  • I like him. Football is full of bland managers. I'd rather have wild dogs chew on my nuts than watch another interview with Coleman, Southgate, Jewell, Bruce, Hughes etc.

Many times his comments were ridiculous and outrageous but I strongly believe he preferred to bring attention on himself and off his players.

I never liked his style of football but his team raised the bar for winning the league to a level where if you lost twice before Christmas you were basically out of it.

Like Jol at Spurs, he is too good for Chelsea. 27K at a home Champions League game? When was the last time there was only 27K at Old Trafford, Anfield or Highbury (or St James Park for that matter) for a European or league match?

"The man never saw anything other than through Chelsea tinted eyes"

That's not a criticism in my book. You could say the same about Fergie and Wenger and, as a United fan, I don't want Fergie looking at the world any other way.

The reaction of the likes of Lampard, Drogba and Terry will be fascinating. You could tell they worshipped the guy and played for him more than Chelsea it seemed. Now they have watched him being pushed out by suits. They also must be looking at Grant as a guy who was instrumental in getting rid of Mourinho. They also must be looking at Grant as a guy who was instrumental in getting rid of Mourinho.

Sunday will be interesting. Of course it could go either way but United are going to bang in a lot of goals some time soon and if it happens on Sunday against Chelsea the fallout will be interesting.

  • Also that lying sack of shi* got Frisk to retire fmro death threats after claiming he was working for Barcelona...
Yeah what a breath of fresh air he is :)

He certainly isnt bland - but Chelsea's football was turgid and their new fans are all armchair fans - 27,000 is a shocker for the CL, even v Rosenborg. Then again I am not sure of Chelsea's ticket prices.

I suspect Chelsea to crumble a bit as well and Drogba will move on. Lamps wont sign on ... actually they may not want to keep him on, he is a glorified Jermaine Jenas.

Mock Chris Coleman but at least that fella is getting managerial experience overseas!

As for Wenger - he is one manager you can ask stuff and he will give you an honest view (barring when he says he didnt see it) but his views on all subjects are usually forthcoming and sensible - not always right but i believe he believes it. With Mauringo his comments are usually SO outrageous as to be simply not credible.

Fergie sometimes can be impartial.. sometimes when he isnt having a meltdown. Rafa I feel is pretty fair too in his analysis.

  • Classic line:

"As for Wenger - he is one manager you can ask stuff and he will give you an honest view (barring when he says he didnt see it)"

By Blogger TheBusbyBoy, at 4:10 PM

  • You know what I mean! You can read Wengers views on all facets of football - if he is asked a question he will answer it! He doesnt say refuse to talk to the BBC or go on a foul mouthed tirade against Sky Sports interviewers or newspapers when someone asks him something he doesnt like..

By Blogger WhatsupWheaton Simon, at 4:15 PM

  • Fuck the BBC and Alan Green !

By Blogger TheBusbyBoy, at 5:37 PM

  • What and eff Sky as well.. and the newspapers... If yo want managers to be entertaining Johnno they have to actually speak.
Oh he does speak I supposed to MUTV , but they are hardly squeaky clean, i am still waiting to see that Roy Keane episode..

By Blogger WhatsupWheaton Simon, at 5:51 PM

  • Jose was simply beneath contempt for all the reasons that Simon's laid out. I wasn't surprised to hear that Jose had a dog because really, listening to him go on and on about how great he is and how rubbish anyone who gets in his way is must make you want to open a vein.

It's guys like Strachan or even El Tel that have been successful in their mein and approach the game with a little humanity and a laugh that you have to admire. Not some jumped up little twat given all the riches in the world to work with who simply won't cheer the feck up.

Sure he'll never go missing for a meal with his record of success. But I sure hope it's somewhere where where I don't have to hear about it every day of the Premiership season.

By Blogger gooner71, at 5:55 PM

  • Here's another point. As bad as I wanted to be the guy who punched Ferguson in the nuts, I fantasized about jumping the velvet rope and wellying into Jose many, many times.

By Blogger gooner71, at 5:58 PM

  • Lets remember that he won a few things at Porto without "all the riches in the world."

Being cheerful isn't in his job description. Fergie and Wenger are hardly a barrel of laughs.

He spent money well until players were forced on him. I'm actually surprised he tolerated that at all never mind for over a season.

When Wenger is able to motivate a team to win two leagues in succession he will have my full respect as a manager. Fergie and Jose achieved that. Not being able to do so with the teams he has built is a chink in his managerial armour in my opinion.

By Blogger TheBusbyBoy, at 6:36 PM

  • At Porto he beat who? Benfica? Sporting...oh yeah he did beat United.. I remember that and so started a long run of beating United and having Fergie suck up to him in the saddest displays buy him bottles of wine... Maurinho only like dyo uwhen he was beating you - when he was losing he was petulant, see: Benitez, Rafa.

  • Am watching Sky Sports news and great coverage i have to say.

Avram Grant reported by Israeli poor quality totti to be: A man with many enemies - she said in a way that only an Israeli can.

Chelsea fan reporrts that Avram needs ared nose as he is a clown - seems to be vast Chelsea discontent with the hole thing from a supported view.

Aleegedly (source: Sky) - Shevchenko and Ballack delighted but the English contingent gutted.

    Catastrophe for Chelsea for sure.

Hiddink in next - eta November if England pip them to Euro 2008.

By Blogger WhatsupWheaton Simon, at 7:36 PM

  • He also won the Champions League at Porto Simon. Also something Wenger hasn't done.

By Blogger TheBusbyBoy, at 8:20 PM

  • I will give you the CL - thats something Wenger would truly love more than back to back titles.

However when you speak Maurinho money well spent let me mention 3 words:
    Shaun Wright Phillips

By Blogger WhatsupWheaton Simon, at 8:26 PM

  • Listen, don't get me wrong, Mourinho has annoyed me many, many times and I think United's title chances have been given a boost because I had Chelsea winning the league and I think their chances have diminished with him leaving.

I do respect him as a manager though and I hate seeing good football folk getting the shaft by shady background characters be it Jol at Spurs, Capello at Madrid, Pardew at West Ham or Mourinho at Chelsea.

Its a disturbing pattern in the game.

On the surface this is good news for United, Arsenal and Liverpool fans. I suppose Arsenal and Liverpool fans might take more pleasure in it seeing as they could not come close to matching his team over the course of a full season so became obsessed by his personality.

United did it so I suppose I resent him less.

  • Jose to coach MLS giant Real Salt Lake soon! Their kitty for transfers is about $451, so they should be able to sign a few players from the local over-the-hill leagues (possibly female).

"In defeat, unbeatable; in victory, unbearable." Churchill on Monty, surely Maurniho too....

By Blogger GAC, at 8:47 AM

  • Isn't $451 about 50 sterling these days?
