Click here for BBC Article on decline of English football as we head into Euro 2008.

Thoughts?

Is it that that there are too many foreigners?

Is it grass roots desire to hoof it to a big man?

Is it that we just need a few coaches and only a pool of 33 English supertalents in the Premier League who will be great because they have to be to compete?

  • I do not buy this argument that there are too many foreign players in the Premeiership and that is hindering the development of English players. If you want to be the best, you have to play the best. Without the foreigners, the English would be stuck still playing the long ball and thinking a good meal the night before a match was beef stew and six Guinness.

The English need to invest more in their academies if they want to improve. The French spend a much larger portion of revenue on player development than the English.

The English, like the Americans, should learn to run at players with the ball at their feet. The English are not exactly the most gifted technically.

Above all though I think the FA is incompetent and McClaren is terrible. He makes Erikson look good.

Many of the English players also lack bottle and pay lip service to doing England proud but they really are a bunch of soft as shite big time Charlies.
